• Drill
• Keyhole or drywall saw (for recessed and trimless installations)

• Measuring tape and pencil

Setup Instructions

Step 1: Disconnect the Power

At the breaker panel, switch off the circuit that serves the installation location. Verify with a voltage tester that no current is present before starting work.

Step 2: Prepare the Ceiling Opening (Recessed & Trimless Only)

If the fixture requires a ceiling cutout, use the included template to mark the opening. Cut precisely with a drywall saw or hole cutter. Trimless models may need additional depth in the ceiling cavity and extra preparation for a seamless finish.

Step 3: Install the Housing or Mounting Hardware

• Recessed and trimless models: Insert the housing into the ceiling cavity and lock it in place with spring clips or fasteners. Trimless versions may require joist bracing for secure support.
• Semi-recessed models: Partially set the fixture into the ceiling and fasten according to the included instructions.
• Surface-mounted models: Attach the fixture directly to the ceiling surface or an existing junction box using screws and wall anchors.
• Track-mounted models: Install a compatible track rail first. Then snap or lock the fixture into position on the track.

Step 4: Complete the Wiring

Pair the fixture leads with the ceiling wires:

• Black to black (hot)
• White to white (neutral)
• Green or bare copper to the ground wire

Fasten each connection with a wire connector and tuck the wires neatly into the housing or junction box.

Step 5: Finish the Assembly

• Trimless models: Apply joint compound around the perimeter and feather it smooth. Sand and paint for a seamless ceiling finish.
• Recessed, semi-recessed, and surface models: Snap or twist the trim ring or fixture body into its final position.
• Track-mounted models: Position and rotate each fixture head along the rail to your preferred angle after locking it onto the track.

Step 6: Restore Power and Verify

Return to the breaker panel and re-energize the circuit. Operate the wall switch or dimmer to confirm the downlight is functioning properly.
